Team Notes
Dodgers Gonsolin had his best start of the year Wednesday against the rival Padres, allowing one run on a drag bunt over seven innings without a walk. He'll need that type of command at Coors Field, where he earned a four-inning save last year in his Denver debut.
Rockies Remember when Senzatela was fastball-slider only? This year it's a four-pitch mix that on Tuesday helped him to a complete-game 3-1 win over Oakland. He forced 15 groundouts and had a fastball near 97 mph in the ninth.

Pitcher Notes

Team Notes
Dodgers Kershaw was cruising in one of his best starts of the year on Monday when Trent Grisham homered and the defense behind him unraveled, wasting nine strikeouts and no walks. He's 10-5 at Coors Field, and not a lot of visiting pitchers have come close to that.
Rockies González had an awful outing in his last start, when he walked three and hit one before being lifted after one-third of an inning at San Diego. But before that, he attacked with his fastball and slider in two strong relief appearances.

2020.09.19 01:48 DragonballComics Robert Queen on Earth-2 (Yes, again =)/Old Multiverse)

Okay then, let's gotta go fast.
I'm watching both Arrow and The Flash again, right now, i'll write anything that happen, anybody mentioned or appeared, and then, i'm on Episode 6, The Flash Season 2, and i have discovered somethings like, let's start:
The Robert Queen show up for the Earth-2 population about he to be the Hood, come in 8 months before Episode 6 Timeline moment, this is, around March 10, 2015 if you use the episode release date, and that date is around episodes 14 (Fallout, February 17, 2015) and 15 (Out of Time, March 17, 2015) on The Flash series, but, what about the Arrow series? around March 10, 2015, the most recent Arrow episodes are 15 (Nanda Parbat, February 25, 2015) and 16 (The Offer, March 18, 2015), and probably, if we consider the only differences of Earth-2 for Earth-1 are just those which appeared and got even one mention on Arrowverse Series, then probably, Robert Queen got his identity revealed by Ra's Al Ghul for one very angry Policeman, Detective or Police Captain (Quentin Lance is dead on Earth-2 by what i remember), and probably, after that, Robert Queen was/were put behind the bars and finally, Adrian Chase or anyone else can be the Hood and try to save the Earth-2 Star City
But okay, i'm sorry by the Bad English, but i am clearly not a American, then, i just wanted to talk about that again because i am trying to make like a Story about Earth-2, because of that i am watching the Arrowverse Series.
See ya.
Add: The batman mask arrow is new, try to make a comparison and see, the black white part of this arrow, on deathstroke, it is like burned or old, but on batman, it's clean, nothing happen for it, and why this is important? then, if it is clean, then is new, someone put it on that place like, 2 days ago? this is, probably batman exists on earth-2, but never consider him as a \"earth-2 green arrow enemy like deathstroke\", this is, probably bruce wayne or anyone else as the batman, gave up of to be a hero and then, travel for lian yu and live on it.

Probable Pitcher (Season Stats) Report
Royals Danny Duffy (3-4, 5.01 ERA, 50.1 IP) Duffy last pitched on Sept. 9 against Cleveland, striking out four over 5 2/3 innings while giving up four hits and walking four.
Brewers Adrian Houser (1-5, 5.33 ERA, 50.2 IP) Houser was on the wrong side of a no-hitter in his last start, an ugly loss to Alec Mills and the Cubs in which the Brewers committed three errors, and five of the seven runs surrendered by Houser were unearned.

Team Notes
Dodgers Urías' status as a contender for the third starter spot in the first round of the postseason got a boost with his start Saturday, allowing the Astros one run in six innings. His walk rate is up and strikeout rate is down this year, so Coors Field will provide a further test.
Rockies Freeland will be making his second start against the Dodgers. He gave up three runs on four hits in six-plus innings at Los Angeles on Aug. 22.

Team Notes
Dodgers This will be an interesting test in adjustments for Gonsolin, who is coming off his worst outing of the year, three runs in five innings of relief after Dustin May was kayoed early. Maybe the return to a starting routine is all that is needed to get Gonsolin back on track.
Padres Davies is throwing his changeup more than any starter in baseball, and to great success. Opponents are batting .175 against the pitch. Despite a fastball that rarely hits 90 mph, Davies has been arguably the Padres' most reliable starter this year.

2020.09.16 01:39 Sobisonator [MOD] Imperatrix: Victoria - Dev Diary 2 - Unit models

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/mod-imperatrix-victoria.1410441/post-26917922

Today we will be previewing the new unit models made specially for Imperatrix: Victoria, bringing to life the 19th century landscape. These were contributed by MrAdrianPl and xangelo, prolific 3D modelers in the modding community - you may know them from a number of stunning unit packs for EU4.
Our aim is to introduce unit models that will change over time as nations develop their military technology. This can be achieved by changing the graphical culture of a country based on its technology level, which can also correspond to the evolving fashion sense of its characters!
Over time, we will introduce more unit models for individual culture groups, diversifying the appearnce of the world's armies. For now, we have a number of major groups which share unit models.
Western
The Western unit model is shared by European countries and their colonial dependencies. You will see these troops all over the world, although we will probably be adding new unique models for certain cultures down the road.
https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/public/614287/1600209298580.png
The uniform is coloured based on the country's two primary colours. Below we see a British redcoat standing guard over London.
https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/public/614285/1600209129453.png
Middle Eastern
The Middle Eastern unit model is used across North Africa to Afghanistan, and sports a uniform somewhere between the Ottoman infantryman's garb and that of a Persian regular. The headgear is modeled after that of the Persian infantry, serving also as a fez for other armies which used similar, but smaller hats. This uniform sports dynamically-coloured trousers and waistcoat.

Above: an Otoman soldiuer in historical colours.
Below: Middle Eastern armies dotted around various minor nations. Can you tell where this is? (There's a pretty obvious clue in the image)
https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/public/614286/1600209204731.png
West African
The gunpowder armies of West Africa are modelled after the garb of the Fulani armies around this time, with head wrappings and flowing wrappings.
https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/public/614291/1600209892471.png
East Asian
The East Asian unit model is a generic model made to suit armies from Lhasa to Bangkok to Tokyo, and as such is a hybrid of different styles.
Eventually, we aim to have more culture-specific uniforms to differentiate the uniforms of Asian armies.
The armies of the Japanese Daimyos and Shogunate produce a striking image!
https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/public/614314/1600212173005.png
Below, Qing troops stand by the Chinese coast in their traditional blue uniforms.
https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/public/614310/1600211706029.png
Arabian
The Arabian units complement the Middle Eastern gfx with outfits more suited to desert warfare, featuring headwrappings and lighter clothing.
https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/public/614312/1600211800057.png
A lot of work goes into making these models, so we are especially grateful for the contributions made to our 3D repertoire. If you are a 3D modeler and you would like to take part in making this mod, let us know: we are looking for character clothing and hair modelers particularly!
A huge thanks again to all our contributors who have helped so much with localisation and demographic data. We are speeding along and have made amazing progress so far. I can't wait to show off our population density map once it is complete.
Finally, once again another teaser of two countries which are playable at the start date. The second one is especially hard to guess, but it's one you know in another form!

2020.09.15 14:00 _Dalty_02 Toxic players ruin DnD game and make fun of the player’s and DM’s deceased loved one

I want to start this off by saying thank you for reading this I know it’s a lot and I’m sorry about that and I also wanted to take a moment to say that this story contains the passing of a loved one, people with handicaps being bullied, workplace harassment and mentions of COVID-19. Everyone is healthy and safe but I just don’t want to trigger anyone. Thank you.
For this story and for the privacy of others involved I’ll be changing the names so here we go:
Abe- Sterotypical edgelord, wears sunglasses during both day and night, plays on his phone during the game, literally only plays a slight mix and match of Wizard, Sorcerer, Artificer with Tiefling, Fallen Aasimair and exclusively Goliath. Works at supermarket so unavoidable and very rude. Was later told to not come to my games for his behaviour. (Aged 21)
Gabrielle-Pale skin, Pimple face, sterotypical self image issues and always goes on and on about anxiety and depression. Always makes badass characters, rules lawyer, used to work with him. Tries to be smartass and get the last zingeroast out of the conversation and bullies other player who has autisim. Considers me to be his bestfriend but just belittles me and other players to get his way. (Plays a Fighter Echo Knight) was also told not to come to my game because of his behaviour. (Aged 21)
Red-Veteran player, closest friend out of the group wouldn’t consider a bestfriend but has a good heart. Can be a bit brash but usually coming from a good place. (Plays a Thief Rogue) (aged 19)
Adrian- New player, literally has only been playing with us for about a month now and I feel terribly sorry for everything that has happened. (Plays a fiendlock) (aged 18)
Kylie- has been very sickly and has not had the most fortunate last couple of weeks and has a total play time of about 2 or 3 weeks. Also sorry about what happened. (Plays a Moon Druid) (aged 18)
Dave- Player who has Autism, is really new to game and is a really great person. He gets confused about spells and attack modifiers and most of the time (except for Abe and Gabrielle who just bullies him) and he always come back to me after the game and apologises and tells me he has a great time. (Plays Monk/Bard) (aged 15)
Jax- Like Kylie and Adrian a simple bystander who just started playing at simply the wrong time, great guy and hosted a sick Dark souls D&D campaign. (Aged 20)
Me-A small time Actor, just graduated highschool looking forward to going to university with Adrian, Kylie is a lifelong friend, currently living with Dave (aged 18)
When we first started playing we were in the Tal’Dorei Campagin setting which I am pretty sure is from Critical Role (I didn’t know at the time what CR was) but Gabrielle assured me that it was his own homebrew. It was fun we played from levels 1-12 at first it was just me, Abe, Gabrielle (gabby), and Red. As time progressed however Gabby started to get more and more aggressive and rules lawyery as the game went on and so we all started to DM.
Before you know there were about 6 games in rotation and each of us were Dming we even added another person named Socrates who I also worked with and he is a gentleman, like from one man to the next I really do respect him and I’m glad I met him through D&D.
So after Gabby’s Campaign ended and he became a player in more and more games he started to get more verbally agro throwing insults at everyone, going so far as to kill other Player Characters and Abe would sometimes join in, he would play the victim most of the time, snitch on other players if they did something to remotely annoy him caused most of the out of game conflict. And then there’s me just sitting there, here because they at least at point were my friends and I saw this as an opportunity to try and use this as practice to become a better VA. In the next year and a bit we got to run through Curse Of Strahd, Star Wars Edge of the Empire (where the legendary Juan Solo and Obi Juan Kenobi were born), Abe’s game called Ragnar, The Pitt, Hogwarts(was unfortunately not titled by Socrates so we just called it hogwarts), another homebrew game by Gabby called Eladin and my game which was the last campaign made by the original group Red hosted most of the games which were COS, Star Wars, The Pitt, and one other which I can’t remember.
Around this time I wanted to take the first character’s we played in Gabby’s first game which he was called out for due to lying and just being a shady dude, I remember one time he had just started dating someone and he come to game with Hickey’s on his neck and just told us how much of a chad he was and made his NPC that was his girlfriend and another NPC pretty much a self-insert made the entire party watch them do it. Worst first impression of DnD ever, very uncomfortable. But at this point the original party was at level 13, Abe made another Tiefling sorcerer since those seem to be in such a high supply nowadays this was his 3rd or 4th Sorcerer. We had just defeated the left over boss from the last campaign and went to the docks and yet another German sounding, 6ft tall, skinny, pasty dude who of course has detailed files on all the party (he didn’t and was told this). So the first session was great the party had a couple of fights ran away from the boss, important NPC’s got established there was some good role playing done.
The second session, Abe’s Sorcerer dies and so does Gabby’s Monk which by the way THREW THEMSELVES INTO AN EVER FALLING LAVA FALL they knew they had to keep moving to prevent falling, I gave them acrobatics checks with advantage to make sure they didn’t die and one of them rolled two 1’s in a row and the other one rolled a 5 and that was, falling damage which wasn’t that much and 20d10 for lava damage. They enjoyed the session but apparently I was targeting them and Red’s character who’s motto was ‘Weaklings die, big deal’ didn’t revive their characters and literally said that they hated Red and I.
I felt so bad I didn’t want to leave it on bad terms so I sat down with them both and helped them create characters with intricate backstories and how they were on the search for these mcguffins that were the Vestiges which were cool weapons that I think were in Critical Role I don’t know I never personally sat down and watched it. So I stuck around and next session we introduced the characters which of course were short girl with German accent #34 (I don’t expect them to do different really complicated accents but avoid doing the same ones) and edgelord Wizard #78. After this point I started working with them at a shop for about 3 or 4 months it was good but it was first job and I had never really something like that before. (Also note inbetween his Sorcerer and Wizard he also played a Death Paladin Which he made me homebrew for him and only played it for 2 sessions after telling me, I don’t like just hitting stuff I like being a spellcaster when I’m pretty sure Paladins are casters using the logic of if they can cast a spell they can be a spellcaster)
This is when things in my personal life took a turn for the worst and my bestfriend who is also my Great Grandparent passed away and honestly she had been with my through thick and thin she was an angel without wings she was beautiful and I loved spending time with her and unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the hospital before it was too late and I don’t mean to get dramatic but I don’t know if I could forgive myself for not being there for her. I come back and ran a DnD game that week and after this game the police stormed my house and escorted me to a quarantining facility when I had already taken a test and I had the proper paperwork and social distancing rules in place to prove that there was no COVID-19.
The party had lost a couple of fights as they were warned by NPC’s this is a harsh land and it is difficult just living so adventuring (this Campaign was set in Wildemount but the adventures themselves were homebrew loosy goosy fun stuff with some roleplay and some fighting). They sailed to this mysterious island which when they got on the beach looked like a tourist destination the sand was soft and beautiful, the trees were lushes and healthy. But as they got in the trees become distorted some of them half dead as if a disease of some kind was reaching up tree, they were contorted and twisted, the branches them selves looked like arms stretching out for a plea, the leaves on the trees were crushed, they were black and white, the soil underneath them was hard and sandy in texture. They continued and small amounts of snow fall started trickling down from the sky the wheather looked like a series of pastel greys and very choked up. They encountered a lake and they saw the tomb.
The players called for a break to eat and stuff out of game and we usually have a 10-15 minute rest up and in that time I apologised for not being around for 2 weeks due to that sort’ve stuff and Gabby looks at me dead in the eyes and says ‘Yeah well the amount of shit people talk about you at work like do your job right’ and I said ‘Well I’ve had more important things like losing my bestfriend and looking after my family to even worry about a shitty truck stop’
‘Yeah, well maybe you should quit. Just like your Nan quit on you when she died.’ I was absolutely furious I could’ve jumped out of my seat and strangled that cunt. Honestly I know I probably sound really Australian because I’m angry but why would you ever say that to someone who is already having a hard time at work. I just let it go and kept on going I texted my mum and she was just as upset as I was. He also called Dave gay and that he is an actual retard and should stop playing.
Abe asked what the time was and I said ‘it’s hard to tell because it seems like there’s a magical affect blocking it’ and he said ‘but I have keen mind’ and I said ‘yeah that unfortunately doesn’t change anything it’s still a magical effect preventing you from telling the time is, you know what? I’ll let you roll a survival check with advantage’ and he literally just said ‘Oh fucking fine whatever, stupid c*nt’ rolled and then I just gave him the time. They had a long rest, they got in the dungeon, it was a good series of combat there was an intellect devourer, some mindflayers and a beholder. It was great fun after the boss encounter they opened the trapped sacoughagous, got blasted with a trap and found a hint for the vestige, kept going found another one opened that and found the armour of the Raven Queen and they said ‘Oh look you just copied CR, you are unoriginal’ and at this point I just had a look of confusion as to what they could’ve meant and looking back on it and having watched CR now it does seem like I created a dungeon very similar to the one found with the same armour.
So you know how I mentioned that Dave had trouble with his spells and being bullied by Gabrielle well he tried to cast a spell and Abe just took over and went through sheet and told him what spell to cast and started yelling at him if he didn’t cast that spell. After the session I was so angry but I had to be sensible and level headed and had some serious conversations on discord Gabby apologised and I told him to find another group and the same with Abe because I was just done I tried reasoning with them and they had plenty of warnings about this sort’ve toxic behaviour and that’s when I decided that I will not be apart of that and Red, Dave, Kylie, Adrian, are welcome to continue their Wildemount experience if they want to and they can contact me any time to organise a date and time to play because they are great new players. I also quit working at my job due to potential future problems with Gabby, Jax left the game because of the drama, and Socrates has irl scheduling conflicts. After the conversation with Abe he went into the group chat and said ‘He is the reason why I’m quitting
TL;DR: Problem players make some of the other players toxic bullying autistic player and making fun of a players/DM deceased loved one.

2020.09.15 00:44 DragonballComics What happen for Original Earth-2 the Hood? (Old Multiverse)

Hello! =o
Okay then, let's gotta go fast:
If you have watched The Flash Season 2, probably you know why that question exists, like, on Episode 1 Arrow Season 8, Oliver Queen meet the Earth-2 the Hood, or the Arrow, whatever, Adrian Chase, but, what about Episode 6 The Flash Season 2? the episode which Robert Queen is mentioned by Earth-2 Channel 52 News Reporter as the Arrow, or the Hood, whatever:
"The Arrow of Starling City, formerly known as the Hood, has been unmasked as billionaire Robert Queen. Robert was marooned on an island when his boat went down in the Pacific, an accident that ended with the tragic death of his son, Oliver*. Robert Queen was thought dead when—excuse me, I'm receiving word.*"
What happen for that line? it was/were changed? Robert Queen never was/were the Earth-2 The Hood? but, what if we use the episodes release date as the main timeline day? like "now", this is, October 15, 2019 should be the Episode 1 Arrow Season 8 "today" and November 10, 2015 should be the Episode 6 The Flash Season 2 "today", then, there is 3 years and 11 months for Robert Queen give his work as the Starling City vigilante, "the Hood" for Adrian Chase, but, the curious is, Adrian Chase never mention him, he just make references for Bruce Wayne, The Earth-1 Batman and the possible Earth-2 Batman too. But, what should explain that character switch? the actor James Sheridan won't be his character no more? or his character got killed? if his character is dead, probably Adrian Chase as his possible sidekick should know about Oliver Queen's death and then, talk about Robert Queen's death for Earth-1 Oliver Queen, right? and more, by what i remember, his number of enemies should be smaller, because: Deaddshot is a policeman, Laurel Lance turned into a villain like Black Siren in 2013, but she transformed into a Team Arrow member even before 2015, no one mention about Deathstroke but because of Robert Queen have the expiration on Thomas Wayne from Flashpoint Timeline story, then he probably have killed Slade Wilson on Lian Yu, or, if he still alive, then probably he got killed on "Second Season" of Arrow on Earth-2, but, if he still alive too even after get defeated by the Arrow, then he's on Lian Yu Prison made by A.R.G.U.S, but, probably his number of enemies can be the same on Earth-2, like, it's so much different, Deadshot is a policeman, Tommy Merlyn is the Dark Archer, Barry Allen has no powers, so many things can happen for someone have a personality transformation and turns perfect for the Arrow villains, but, okay then, it's a confusion to me, then, please, someone answer me:
What happen for Original Earth-2 the Hood? (Outside of the story, this is, about his actor, and about his character inside the story)

2020.09.14 17:20 Rusure111111 Week 1 Defensive Breakdown + GIFS

Hey fellow pats fans,
FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY and boy does it feel good. Yesterday was a fabulous start to the season and I thought today I'd go back through the game to review some tape of the defense. I thought I'd do a little write-up mostly for fun but also to possibly create some discussion on this sub. I'm going to go through some GIFs and discuss personnel, formation and scheme, as well as simply watching for fundamentals and effort which is where everything starts in a week 1 football game.
Initial Impressions:
In a lot of ways, we played yesterday like a preseason game. What I mean by that is we played EVERYONE. At every position, most players saw snaps. For this reason discussing personnel is rather unhelpful, so instead we'll look at around 15 plays to see who was playing well on each particular snap. I will say one thing about personnel, which is that we almost fielded two complete secondaries which is absurd. While gilmore played the whole game, we saw some snaps with Jcourt, jackson, and jones, and others with Brooks, Phillips, and Joejuan (Dugger saw a few snaps too). I feel bad for other teams when their 3rd and 4th receiving options have to line up against such a solid group of players after Gilmore and JC.
In terms of scheme, we also ran a large variety of packages, but our base 1st down defense was a 2-4-5 with only two lineman with their hands in the dirt or even a 2-3-6 with Adrian Phillips, Terrence brooks, and on a few snaps Dugger down in the box. All this says to me is BB didn't really respect the dolphins run game all too much, and for the most part we had no issues containing the run with this formation. Passing situations looked similar to last year, with many players standing up on the LOS, and plenty of 2 and 3 man stunts/games to try to generate some pressure on fitzmagic.
Our coverage was also highly varied, with cover 1 man, cover 1 robber being our standard calls on third down, as well as mixing in some cover 2 man and zone as well as cover 3. I think we're going to be at the top of the league in terms of man coverage again this year, but we also have some guys who look great in zone. Being able to do both is a huge advantage, and I don't think the interceptions are going to be stopping any time soon.
On to the plays:
Snap 1: https://streamable.com/chha5b
2nd and 6. This is the second play of the game, and mostly added this one to show the base personnel we're running (2-4-5). Simon and Wino got the start at OLB, and as you'll see throughout the gifs, they showed why. Copeland and Bentley started off the line. I think Copeland got the start over Jennings simply due to experience, and Uche being lightweight and less experienced sat behind chase and simon. The only thing really to note in this play is that Lawrence Guy in my humble opinion has to be one of the most underrated tackles in the league. He plays every snap with proper technique. Gets his hands on the guard early, and sheds his ass to make the play, as he does on a consistent basis. Cowart also gets the nod to start, which is good to see given our lack of depth inside, and he does a good job holding the line and playing with hands.
Snap 2: https://streamable.com/1cbktx
1st and 10. The next two snaps are the b2b wino plays. Same formation as last time, with Jonathan jones brought down as a 7th man in the box. It looks like he has contain, so Chase gets upfield into the C gap on the snap. He keeps his eyes on the ballcarrier, and instead of running past the play, spins backwards to be in perfect position to make the tackle. You see a lot of lineman in this league get so overzealous that they run right past the play, but wino is able to double back and be in perfect position. Also of note on this play is Wise doing a decent job vs the double team, giving up a few yards but not letting either off him to the second level, allowing Bentley to come unblocked to assist on the tackle.
Snap 3: https://streamable.com/yo4han
2nd and 9. This proves BB is stealing the dolphins plays (jk of course). Again, same formation (2-4). Bentley blitzes the backside B gap, and blows up both the pulling guard and h-back, allowing wino to come unblocked off the edge. Chase gets upfield in a hurry, stays tight as he passes the pulling guard, and makes the tackle. You have to be careful doing this, because again you can easily run yourself right out of the play if you run too deep, and the pulling guard won't even have to block you. He takes a calculated risk and it pays off big. Two plays in a row for Chase. Butler also continues to impress me. Every game he plays better than the one before. Very quick off this snap, he also gets DEEP into the backfield and is also right there to make the tackle.
Snap 4: https://streamable.com/1k52ep
3rd and 11. Our nascar package is on with butler, wise, and calhoun seeing the field in this package. On the right hand side of our line, we play the 3 man game with butler and calhoun driving upfield fast into the a and b gaps. Their job isn't to necessarily make the play, but to pull the center with them. Adrian Phillips then wraps from outside both towards the a-gap, center misses him, and he gets to fitzmagic just in time to force an early throw. On the backside we're running cover 1 man, a staple on third down for us last year. Gilmore is in perfect position, ball never should've been thrown but the pressure forced it, and we get OUR FIRST PICK OF THE SEASON BABY. On a side note, I think we'll be running a lot of these games up front as we lost some of our best rushers (high, van noy, collins), so we'll be looking for ways to still generate pressure up front. If we can't get to the qb when we play man, trouble happens.
Snap 5: https://streamable.com/4dvj8p
1st and 10. Playing 3 down lineman this time (3-3-5) with dugger down in the box as the 7th man. This is an example of what you don't want to see. Xavier Williams is over center, and he gets washed by the double team 5 yards downfield. It's obviously early in the season, but he will lose snaps to Cowart and Butler without better technique. We're also obviously missing Beau Allen at that position, but I haven't really kept up to date about when we might expect him to return.
Snaps 6 and 7: https://streamable.com/c30ljh
1st and 10. 3 down lineman again. Wise, like Butler, is another player who has improved with time. While at times in the past I've seen him get washed off the snap, here he gets a great push off the snap, keeps his hands extended, sheds the blocker and stands up the running back for no gain. Also of note is Simon making the TE look like hes playing two hand touch, doing a great job keeping the edge tight and getting in on the tackle. Bentley with a decent pop on the guard as well.
2nd and 10. 2-3-6, with Terrence Brooks down in the box playing linebacker. Cowart again showing very good strength. He makes the center look like an absolute fool. Pops him off the line, extends his hands, and sheds him immediately to tackle the RB in the backfield. I can tell he's learning technique from Guy (and obviously BB). His power and size could let him see the field a LOT more this season. Terrence Brooks also does a good job with weak side pursuit, and is there to make the tackle if Cowart needed it (he didnt :p). In general Brooks has impressed me, he just looks extremely athletic out there and has GREAT tackling as we'll see further on. On this play you can see what I was talking about about Wise in the past, he can't get his hands extended, and thus loses power and gets a little washed, luckily it didn't matter on this play.
Snap 8: https://streamable.com/3nelju
Obligatory fuck you refs! Not much to say about this one other than I guess now you can run pick plays 8 yards down field. On to the next play.
Snap 9: https://streamable.com/c3mp9z
1st and 10 vs 10 personnel. We run cover 1 robber, another staple from last year. With our ability to run man coverage, I guarantee were going to see more picks from the robber spot this year. Phillips, brooks, dugger, and also rolling mccourty down from cover 2 disguise to the robber spot will all be viable options for this role. Instead of showing it pre-snap, Adrian Phillips shows blitz, before dropping back and reading fitzmagic's eyes. Ryan never sees him, and Phillips is in perfect position for PICK NUMBER 2.
Snap 10: https://streamable.com/mplr4t
1st and 10. 2-4 with jones down as the 7th man in the box again. Take notes, Xavier Williams. Guy takes on the double team, only loses a yard or two, and collapses on the running back. You can't ask for much more unless you have Wilfork out there. Him taking on the double allows Bentley to get up to the LOS cleanly, sneak around Wise, and wrap up for a gain of just a yard or two. Wise again here gets pushed back a little more than we like to see. Chase shows great use of hands to push off the cut block and stay on his feet to help on the tackle. Nothing spectacular on this play, just solid team defense.
Snap 11: https://streamable.com/c5ax89
2nd and 8. 2-3-6 with Adrian Phillips down in the box. Guy and Wise do a little two man criss-cross on the inside, center can't pick it up and Wise is there to force the outlet throw to the RB. I put this play in because it's another very heads up play by Wino which could easily go missed. He sees the RB leak out into the flat, and even though Phillips has him in man coverage, Wino realizes that he probably has a better chance of making the play by peeling off instead of continuing on to the quarterback. He is held atrociously by the tackle (no flag called of course), and Phillips misses the tackle but slowed the RB down enough for chase to clean up. If he didn't peel off, RB goes for 10 yards there easy. Super underrated play that a lot of players wouldn't make because all they have on their mind is "Get TO DA QB HUR DUR".
Snap 12: https://streamable.com/75mwx8
3rd and 5. Looks like we're playing cover 1 robber here again, but I'm not sure. As you can see it looks like Phillips is playing robber again, but I'm not quite sure what Bentley is doing. Perhaps the coaching point here was instead of Bentley being the 4th rusher, he reads fitzmagic and is playing spy to prevent him from running for the 1st. The thing to note on this play is the good technique and coverage by Joejuan Williams. Playing Outside leverage, he perhaps could've gotten a better jab at the line. However, he recovers quickly and takes a great angle to cut off the receiver who is trying to get on top of him. He is even able to get his head back for the ball and almost gets his first pick. Great to see him looking solid out there.
Snap 13: https://streamable.com/vkrmm2
3rd and 2. Terrence brooks is playing linebacker vs 11 personnel. Reads the play and makes possibly the best stick of the game at the line of scrimmage. BB used to love playing Chung down in the box vs the run, and brooks on that play did it just as good as Chung ever did. What a perfect form tackle with POWER behind it at the line. Impressive.
Snap 14: https://streamable.com/wb9a68
1st and goal at the 1. Had to include one of the two goal line stops here. Overall just great team defense and technique for game 1 of the season. 250lb Wino is lined up at NOSE TACKLE on the 1 yard line, shoots his gap, stays alive, and hits the RB behind the line. pretty absurd to be honest. Cowart again shows his strength and good use of hands. While he could've been a little lower off the ball, I'm pretty sure that's a left tackle that he overpowers, wins the hand game, and jumps on the RB in the backfield. He wants more playing time too.
Snap 15: https://streamable.com/g0tgys
3rd and 6. Cover 0 blitz which was another staple from last year. Man coverage, but most of the DBs are playing off and just reading the qb because they know the ball has to come out quick. Joejuan good technique and tight coverage again, and despite playing down on the LOS still gets his head back to the ball. He does perhaps get away with PI by running into the TE, but it's super close. If he can continue to play well, he will be a great matchup vs TEs given his height. The real impressive play is by JC here. Even though he's playing man, he's reading fitzmagic and comes off his guy when the ball is thrown to make the 3RD INTERCEPTION OF THE GAME. He is playing at an elite level, and there aren't many WRs in the league who he couldn't give a run for their money.

Overall, for the first week of the season, and given the fact that we lost a LOT of players in the front 7 last year, I was very impressed by what I saw. Good team defense, strong fundamental play, and playing PHYSICAL. WOO I love some patriots football. I think we're still going to have to prove ourselves against stronger running teams, as we won't be able to get away with the light personnel/formations against every team like we did this week.
We're in for what could be one of the toughest games of the season next week. My guess would be we might see a little less rotation of personnel up front given the strength of the team we're playing against, but honestly the rotation of the secondary might be here to stay. Phillips can play, Brooks can play, Joejuan can play, both mccourtys, jc, j jones, gilmore. It'll be all about the match-ups and how much run support we need. ON TO SEATTLE.

Bonus offensive snap: https://streamable.com/mh3nb5
Nkeal, this kid is 5'5 and ran straight through a corner. Pay attention kid, and run through the defender for the love of god
